How to Keep Bird Suet
Suet is made from animal fat, either beef tallow or hog lard. It is heated and mixed with other ingredients such as raisins, peanut butter and corn. Suet can keep for several months in a cool dry place, but for long-term storage it should be kept in the freezer to prevent it from going rancid. Freezing the suet will extend its lifespan indefinitely. That way you can make batches of suet and use them only as you need them.
Instructions

1
Cut the suet into blocks that will fit into your suet feeder.
-
2
Cut waxed paper into sheets a little larger than the blocks of suet.
-
-
3
Stack the blocks one on top of the other, with a sheet of waxed paper in between each block. The waxed paper keeps the blocks from sticking to each other.

Store in a cool location at temperatures under 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or place the bags in the freezer.
