How to Make a Facebook Fan or Facebook Group
Facebook has gone from a novelty to a marketing necessity. For a few minutes of your time and no money, you can set up a page for your group or business, or a fan page for yourself or a friend. This gives you free advertising and a great way to interact with your fans or group members. The only requirement, per Facebook's rules, is that you are the "official representative of an organization, business, celebrity, or band."

Open the Facebook "Create a Page" web page.

Select the type of page you want to create.

Enter the required information. This may vary depending on the type you choose. Information includes a "Category" (from the drop-down menu), "Company or Business Name" or a "Brand or Product."

Agree to the Facebook Terms of Service.

Click the "Get Started" button. This opens the Get Started page for your group.

Click "Upload an image" to add an image to your page.

Click the "Suggest to Friends" button to send a group invitation to your friends.

Click the "Import Contacts" button to send the group information to your contacts.

Click the "Post Update" button to write an update on the group's Facebook wall.
