Instructions

    • 1

Determine the length of the wall that you want to attach the baseboard to using a measuring tape.

    • 2

Use the wall's length as a reference for the baseboard's length. Their lengths should be the same. Mark the length on the baseboard.

    • 3

Position the baseboard on the mitre saw. Use a guide rail if necessary. Adjust the blade of the mitre saw according to the direction of the cut to be made. Swivel the blade 45 degrees to the left to make an outside corner or 45 degrees to the right to make an inner corner. Swivel it vertically or horizontally to make a straight cut.

    • 4

Hold the baseboard firmly. Lower the blade of mitre saw. The blade should be aligned with the mark on the baseboard.

    • 5

Turn on the mitre saw by squeezing the trigger. Slowly lower its blade to the baseboard until it makes a smooth cut. Hold the trigger while cutting the baseboard. Keep your fingers away from the blade.

    • 6

Turn off the mitre saw after cutting. To turn it off, release the trigger and wait for the blade to stop spinning.
