Instructions

      Harvest lavender when the buds are still young and tight. Cut the stalks of the plant in the morning after the dew has dried.

      Tie the stalks together at the bottom of the stem using string or an elastic band and hang them upside down in a cool, dark, dry location such as a closet or an attic.

      Strip the buds off the stalks after they have dried, usually two to three weeks.

      Store the buds in a cool, dry place, placing them in sachets made of folded cheesecloth or in glass jars.
