How to Make Hot Peanuts

- Vegetable oil
- Skillet

Remove shelled peanuts from their shells. Turn your stove top burner onto a medium-heat setting. Heat 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil in a skillet.

Create a flavor mixture, if desired. Melt 1/4 cup of honey in a sauce pan. Add 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir it for two minutes to provide a sweet glaze, if desired. Mix ¼ tsp. of cayenne pepper and ½ tsp. of garlic salt for a spicy flavor, if desired.

Add 2 cups of unsalted peanuts to the hot vegetable oil. Cook them for one minute. Add the hot spice mixture to the skillet, if desired. Stir the peanuts to cook them evenly and to coat them in the spices for one minute. Cook peanuts without flavoring for two minutes.

Remove the peanuts from the heat. Scoop them into a bowl with a spoon. This helps eliminate excess oil from entering the bowl. Toss the hot peanuts in 1 tsp. of sugar and the hot honey and cinnamon mixture, if desired. Stir the peanuts while they cool for five minutes. Serve the peanuts hot.
