How to Hide All Retweets

Retweets are tweets that someone has reposted from one of the people he is following. By default, a person's retweets show in your normal Twitter feed if you are following that person. If you only want to show original tweets in your Twitter feed, you can turn off retweets. Unfortunately, Twitter does not offer a global setting for disabling retweets. In order to turn off all retweets, you'll need to manually disable the feature for each user you are following.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit Twitter.com and click "Sign In." Sign in to your Twitter account. This directs you to the main page that shows you the tweets and retweets of those you are following.

    • 2

Click on "Following" to display the list of Twitter users you are following.

    • 3

Click on a Twitter user. Her profile appears in the right sidebar.

    • 4

Click on the green circle icon with the arrows beneath the person's profile name. The green icon turns gray. This disables retweets from that user from showing in your news feed.

    • 5

Click on the next Twitter user in your "Following" list. Click on the green circle button again to turn off retweets for that particular user.

    • 6

Repeat the process until you have turned off retweets for all of the people you are following.
