How to Take Over a Business in "Godfather 2"

Electronic Arts released "Godfather II" in 2009. The game is based loosely on the film and novel of the same name. You play as a mafiosi in the employ of the Corleone family. Most of the game revolves around taking over and extorting black-market businesses, such as diamond smuggling or gambling joints. The game features dozens of these businesses, and getting each one is different, depending on the personality of the owner and how many guards he has. However, the overall procedure is the same from business to business.

Instructions

    • 1

Proceed through the game until you get a mission to take over a business. This will happen throughout the story during conversations with Michael Corleone or his consigliere. Once they have targeted a business, it appears on your minimap.

    • 2

Drive to the business. Along the way, obey the traffic laws and do not attract attention to yourself. You are getting ready to do something illegal, and if the police see it, you will have to deal with them as well as mafia goons.

    • 3

Enter the business. Your next goal is to get to the business owner. If he has guards, you will have to kill them or beat them unconscious. In the first several missions, you will have to do this alone. Later, you will have companions to help you.

    • 4

Approach the owner and speak with him. Two bars will appear in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The top bar represents his health. If he loses all of it, he dies and you fail your mission. The bottom bar represents his cooperativeness. A red line is in the middle of the bar. You want the bar to fill past the red line. In order to fill it, you need to figure out his weakness and exploit it.

    • 5

Grab him, hit him and lean him over a high ledge. Each of these is a potential weakness. Watch his cooperativeness as you assault him. If it starts to fill up, then you know you've found his weakness. Continue to perform this action until the bar fills past the red line.

    • 6

Release him and speak to him again. He will agree to give your family a cut of his business.
