How to Wash a Wooden Deck
Your wooden deck allows you to enjoy the outdoors, barbecue and have meals with friends and family. When the deck begins to look dull and requires cleaning, use something that breaks up the residue but will not cause harm to the deck or any surrounding soil or plants. You can do this with oxygen bleach, which is safe for any deck surface when used properly. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill a cleaning bucket with 1 cup oxygen bleach and 1 gallon water.

Pre-rinse the deck with your garden hose to get rid of loose buildup.

Dip a nylon scrub brush into the cleaning solution and scrub it over the deck. Continue until you remove all residue from the deck.

Rinse the deck one final time with your garden hose and allow it to air dry.

Tips & Warnings
Do not use wire or metal brushes on the deck because they will cause damage to many surfaces including concrete and wood.
