Salmon is an oily fish high in omega-3 fatty acids, protein and vitamin D. There are several methods of preparing salmon, including stuffing its meat with flavorful mixtures. Broiling stuffed salmon crisps its meat and infuses its stuffing with the fish's juices and flavor. To broil stuffed salmon, set aside approximately six minutes of time per inch of thickness.   • Metal tongs
  • Meat thermometer

Instructions

      Turn on the broiler setting on an oven. If your broiler has adjustable racks, move the top rack 5 inches to 6 inches away from the heat before turning it on.

      Wrap the stuffed salmon in a sheet of aluminum foil and place it into the preheated broiler. Allow it to broil for three minutes per inch of thickness.

      Turn the stuffed salmon over with a pair of metal tongs and cook the other side for three minutes per inch.

      Remove the salmon from the oven and carefully unwrap it. Place a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the salmon's meat. If the meat is not at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit, rewrap it and broil in three-minute increments until it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Allow the salmon to rest on a cool surface for five minutes. Serve while hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your stuffed salmon is not preseasoned, brush the outer layer with a thin coating of olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste before wrapping.
