DIY: Blue Orchid Centerpieces
Many people choose to design centerpieces themselves as a do-it-yourself project for their wedding. It helps cut costs by getting family and friends to help make and set up the centerpieces, rather than hiring a florist do them. Blue orchids are beautiful flowers that will bring color to the table, and if used with other accessories, they can result in a breathtaking focal point of the table decor. Learn how to create a stunning blue orchid centerpiece using glass vases, crystals and floating candles for your wedding.

1
Purchase real or silk orchids from a florist or online (see Resources). Cut the stems, if necessary, and use green stem wire or fishing line to string the orchids together. Use a needle to put a hole through the center of the orchid and string it through the wire. Use four to five orchids and evenly space them. Shape the wire into a spiral. Secure the bottom of the wire to the vase with floral tape. Ensure that the length of the wire is 2 inches shorter than the vase.
