Stop your hectic schedule with some planning.

Everyone's life gets hectic at some point due to family, friends and commitments, but some people follow a hectic schedule on a regular basis. Often this means that the person with the hectic schedule spends his day rushing from task to task, leaving him feeling stressed and overworked. Following a hectic schedule isn't healthy and can sometimes prevent you from properly enjoying or accomplishing things you really want to do. There are a few different ways to stop a hectic schedule, but they require effort and commitment.

Instructions

    • 1

Plan ahead. Every day you will have things that need to be done, but writing them down at the start of the week will allow you to prioritize and see what is most important to get accomplished.

    • 2

Make a schedule. Use a calendar or spreadsheet and write down every event or thing that needs to be done. If you have kids, write down school plays, concerts and teacher meetings. For partners, note down work functions and events. List any birthdays coming up or other significant events so that you can see at a glance what you have to do.

    • 3

Stop procrastinating. Do something as soon as it needs to be done so that you can cross it off your list straight away and move onto something else.

    • 4

Delegate tasks. It could be that one of the reasons you are so busy and hectic is because you are trying to do too much. Ask other parents to start a carpool so you get some extra time in your mornings or afternoons, ask people at work to help you out if there is too much to do and rely on family members to help you at home if needed.

    • 5

Learn to say no. Some people live hectic lives because they say yes to every event and every task. Start saying no to few things that aren't essential.
