How to Make Platinum White After it Has Tarnished

Platinum or white gold is used to make rings, necklaces and earrings. Over time, platinum tarnishes, or is covered with a layer of black or dark colors. Clean oils from lotions, your skin, makeup or hairspray that collect on the surface of your jewelry. Exposure to chlorine from a swimming pool, hot tub or household bleach can cause the surface of the metal to break down or chemically react and form tarnish. Clean tarnish off of your platinum with ammonia to give it a brilliant shine. Does this Spark an idea?
