How to Accept Spirit Vision Guidance
People on any spiritual path often turn to prayer and meditation to align their inner self with the divine. Through stillness, silence and vision questing, religious and spiritual seekers receive a state of peace, serenity and calm. Sometimes information comes in the form of thoughts, words, sounds and visions. Divinity's guidance comes in many forms, which can be grouped together as "Holy Spirit", "Ascended Master" and others. However, what sometimes seems to be guidance may not hold the highest intentions for your growth and well-being. Careful discernment is required with any form of seeking guidance, from without or from within.

1
Focus only on the present moment when you are in nature, at church, or meditating and praying at home,. Relax and keep your thoughts to a minimum. If you are at home, you may want to light a candle or incense, or both, but these are not required.
-
2
Breathe deeply until your body is completely calm and free of any outer stresses.
-
-
3
Still your mind. Focus on your third eye area, just above and between your eyebrows.
-
4
Clearly state your intention that you only welcome those masters, guides and angels who want your highest good. Imagine you are protected by God's love and that only loving beings may pass through.
-
5
Listen. As you become more relaxed, continue breathing normally, just being, but begin to listen in the stillness. If you have a particular question for God, your angels, or your spirit helpers, ask it. And continue to listen.
-
6
You may receive images or actually hear a voice. Continue to fully pay attention to whatever information you may receive through any of your mental and physical senses. You may receive nothing obvious, but instead feel a deep sense of love.
-
7
When a particular thought or answer seems to arise, notice how your body feels. If it is light and peaceful, ask your spirit guides to affirm the information. If you feel uncomfortable, queasy or fearful, turn your focus to loving, forgiving and gratitude thoughts. Keep a mental note of your response.
-
8
Remain in your calm state until you sense the session is complete. If you are with someone else, they may end the session, helping you to return to a state more toward your daily norm. Slowly allow yourself to return to your normal state. Notice how you feel.
-
9
Write down your thoughts and experience in a notepad or journal, noting how you felt, and anything that stands out. Log any answers, sensations, visions and so forth. Review the information. If you feel the information you received is useful and pertinent to bettering yourself or your life situation, apply it through your actions. Otherwise, simply acknowledge it and release it.
-
10
Maintain the inner peaceful state as you participate in the outer world. This takes practice but gets easier with time.

Tips & Warnings
While silence is often preferable, meditation tapes or pleasant music can assist in moving into deeper states.
Periodically, ask God and your guides to show you the way and how to utilize the loving information you receive.
If you do a long, deep meditation during or soon after a fast, use care when resuming normal food and water consumption. Sometimes, you will have extreme spiritual journeys, but no matter how incredible it feels, discern how the information truly serves your life.
Offer thanks often.
If you receive "information" or thoughts and visions that are unloving, or deeply disturbing, you may have unwanted visitors. Anything that asks you to hurt yourself or others, or that uses hateful words and behaviors, is NOT a "guide" you want. Command it to depart immediately.
This is your life. YOU are in control of your thoughts and choices. Always discern carefully.
