How to Hide Icons on the Desktop in Windows 7
Not everyone wants to see the shortcut icons on their desktop. If you have your Windows 7 background set as a slide show, these icons block the pictures displayed. Besides, you can still access your programs through the "Start" menu. Windows 7 allows you to instantly hide all your desktop icons with just a few clicks of your mouse, so you can fully enjoy unfettered viewing of your background.
