  1. Increasing Life by Boiling

      Pour the milk into a clean pot.

      Heat the pot over high heat until the milk boils.

      Cover the milk pot while it cools.

      Refrigerate the milk pot for a few hours. Doing so will remove the smell from milk, kill microorganisms to pasteurize it and increase its life by at least two days.

    Increasing Life by Adding Baking Soda

      Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to the milk pot.

      Heat the pot over high heat until the milk boils.

      Refrigerate the milk or keep it at room temperature. The baking soda will prevent it from spoiling for a long time, even if kept outside the refrigerator.
