How to Date a Grandma
Dating a grandma is not about going out with an old lady and her knitting. Just because a lady is more mature and has extended family does not equate to rewriting the dating rules. However, you can be one step ahead of the game and find out what she values to make the date go smoothly.

1
Invite your lady friend out on a date, and confirm a suitable time for you to meet. Your date might have prior engagements to babysit the grandchildren, so make sure your schedule does not conflict with her plans.
-
2
Book a restaurant, tickets or other entertainment in advance. You don't want to look unprepared and wind up waiting a long time for a table or not getting in.
-
-
3
Offer to pick your date up if this suits you, or meet on time at an agreed location. Bring a bunch of flowers to show your thoughtfulness.
-
4
Keep the conversation light hearted. For example, ask about her hobbies and grandchildren.
-
5
Ask the grandma about her family but do not pry too much, as divorces, family problems or other issues may cause tension on the date. You will have a chance to explore the bigger issues once you have landed a second date.
-
6
Treat your date with respect. She may have life experience on her side, so explore grandma's inner wisdom. Respect includes honesty, so be open and relaxed about your ideas and feelings.
-
7
Be prepared. Make sure you have thought about a couple of anecdotal stories to tell her if the conversation runs dry. Dating mature people is not remarkably different to younger couples and often a lack of common interests brings a stop to the conversation.
-
8
Take your date home at a reasonable hour. Do not forget your date has additional responsibilities and probably does not want to stay up all night in a club. Keep her relaxed by meeting and leaving early.
