How to Decorate With Diapers thumbnail
Diaper cakes are just one great way to use diapers as part of a baby shower's decor.

When it comes to baby showers, diapers are always a helpful gift to give. Diapers are not only a functional gift, they can add the perfect accent to the shower decor, making it both practical and cute. Whatever method of diapering the mother-to-be might be planning to use, there are ways to incorporate diapering essentials -- for either disposable or cloth -- into the shower decorations, making it a personalized and creative shower that will be remembered and cherished. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Make a diaper cake to be the main table centerpiece. Diaper cakes can be made easily by stacking diapers sideways and securing them in a circular shape using tape, ribbon or rubber bands. They can be tailored to suit any color scheme or style with ribbon, fabric, flowers, or baby items, such as pacifiers.

    • 2

String cloth diapers along a clothesline with clothespins. You can also throw in some cute Onesies, socks and hats to the mix as well, making it an even further practical decoration. This decoration can be hung on the wall, strung overhead as a streamer, or strung at the entrance as a banner.

    • 3

Use pre-fold cloth diapers for napkins. These can also be embellished with writing, pins, or embroidery to personalize them.

    • 4

Create a banner using disposable diapers by writing a letter on each one, spelling out a welcome sign, such as "It's a Boy," "Congratulations," or the baby's name. For extra personalization, use the shower color scheme in the lettering or diaper colors, along with other fun baby items on the string.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to use size 1 or size 2 diapers, as not all newborns can actually fit in newborn sizes.
