How to Fold a Face Towel

A face towel is a good size for wiping the face at the gym.

A face towel is another name for a hand towel. This type of towel is smaller than a regular towel. Often a face towel will have a border, trim, embroidery or other decoration to make it look expensive and fancy. Such fancy-edged towels are often only for show and kept in guest bathrooms as part of the decor. Usable face and hand towels are typically plush and sized to quickly wipe the hands and face in the bathroom. Folding a face towel like a hotel does will create appealing towels.

Instructions

1. Place the face towel flat on the table, rough or label side up. Smooth the towel flat with your fingers. (A face towel is rectangular in shape, approximately 14-inches wide by 30-inches long.)

2. Position the towel with the longest side at the top and bottom.

3. Fold the top of the long side down 3 1/2-inches to the center. Fold the bottom of the long side up 3 1/2-inches to the center. Allow a 1/4-inch between the edges of the towel. Smooth the creases.

4. Fold the right side toward the center 7 1/2 inches and smooth the crease. Fold the left side toward the center 7 1/2 inches and smooth the crease. Allow a 1/4-inch between the edges.

5. Fold the left side over the right side and match the corners. Smooth the towel. Place the towel on display.
