How to Refill a DuPont Lighter
DuPont lighters are stylish, flip-top lighters that use butane refill cartridges for fuel. Instead of buying the official refill cartridges, you can save money by refilling the lighter yourself using an adapter and a butane canister. Adapters can be purchased online or at stores that sell the lighters. DuPont lighters have several different size refills and are color coded. Make sure you have the correct adapter for your lighter. They come in yellow/gold, red and green. Once you have the adapter, it only takes a few seconds to refill your DuPont lighter.

Turn the lighter over and look for the refill cap. The cap has a tiny lever you can pry out with your fingernail to unscrew the cap.

Unscrew the cap and set it aside.

Insert the adapter into the refill hole and screw it in.

Insert the nipple on the end of the butane canister into the adapter.

Pump the refill canister four to five times in short bursts.

Set the canister aside and unscrew the adapter.

Screw the cap back on the lighter and fold the lever down.
