How to Use BlackBerry Messenger on a BlackBerry Curve

BlackBerry Messenger is a proprietary instant messaging service used to send messages over the BlackBerry PIN network. You can only use BlackBerry Messenger with other BlackBerry users. You can also send pictures, videos, files, emoticons, map locations and audio recordings over BlackBerry Messenger. All you need is another BlackBerry user's PIN or BlackBerry email address to start using BlackBerry Messenger on a BlackBerry Curve.

Instructions

1. Scroll to the "Instant Messaging" icon on the BlackBerry Curve and press the trackball to open it.

2. Highlight the "BlackBerry Messenger" icon and press the trackball to open it.

3. Click on a "Contact" within BlackBerry Messenger and click "Start Conversation" to initiate a chat. Type a message in the message field and press the trackball to send it.

4. Close the chat session and BlackBerry Messenger by pressing the trackball and clicking "End Conversation."
