How to Make a Robot Valentine Box
Anyone kid can carry their Valentine's Day cards home in a paper bag. But why not give yours a robot to stash them in? A few simple materials turn into a shiny, personality-filled robot box is cute enough to keep as a toy long after the big day.
Things You'll Need
- Shoe box
- Medium-sized lidded box
- Small box
- Aluminum foil
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Craft knife
- 4 toilet paper rolls
- Hot glue gun
- Black marker
- Valentine's card or construction paper heart

Cover all three boxes with aluminum foil, using glue to secure it. Choose a medium lidded box that is smaller than a shoe box and a small box that is smaller than the medium box. Cover the shoe box and small boxes with their lids on. Cover the medium box's lid separately.

Cut three sides of a square in the center of the lid of the medium sized box. The bottom side of the square should remain uncut. This hinged flap is the door through which your child's friends will insert their valentines.

Stand the shoebox on end. This will be the robot legs. Glue the medium box to the top of it with the lid facing out. This is the robot body. Glue the small box to the top center of the medium box on end. This is the robot head. Use a black marker to draw features and other details on the robot. Draw a control panel on the robot's chest. Don't forget to include a heart, for valentine's day. Also, draw the robot's face on the small box.

Cover two toilet paper rolls in aluminum foil and use hot glue to attach them as arms to the robot. Glue a valentine card or a construction paper heart to the robot's hand for the holiday.
