How to Use a Red Eye Reduction Flash
When photographed with flash, some people have red glowing eyes in pictures. The pose of the person, amount of light in the room, shape of her eyes and size of his pupils all determine how much of a red reflection will show in the pictures. Reduce this phenomenon by altering the surrounding environment and forgoing the "Auto" flash function on your camera. Using the red-eye reduction flash feature minimizes the reflection of red blood vessels in human eyes which ultimately reduces the appearance of red-eye.

Tips & Warnings
When using the red-eye reduction feature with children or inattentive subjects, let them know the camera will blink several times before making one long, brighter flash at the end. Some people will think the camera captured the photo after the first small pulse of light, and they walk away or stop smiling prematurely.
The red-eye reduction mode on a camera will not reduce the blue-cast caused by cataracts in pet or human eyes.
Use photo editing software to fully remove red-eye reflections or blue-eye reflections.
