Drape your fabric to look like a goddess.

The Greek goddess is a classic and glamorous costume that is simple to create. Draping a goddess costume is similar to draping a male toga, but with a few modifications to ensure it is modest and flattering for a woman. Use a basic white cotton or muslin sheet for a classic look, or add glamour with a silky fabric in white or even a bright purple or red. Add goddess-worthy accessories like a gold belt and sandals, gold bracelets and a pair of chunky gold earrings with an antique look. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the fabric horizontally in front of your body. Place one corner under your arm so the fabric extends from just above your chest to down to your knee or lower.

    • 2

Wrap the fabric around your body twice to create a double-layered tube dress.

    • 3

Grip the remaining fabric in front of you at waist level. Twist it tightly to make a belt.

    • 4

Wrap the belt around your waist twice to cinch in your waistline and make the fabric tube more flattering.

    • 5

Wrap the remaining fabric around your neck and back and around to your front to create a halter-style neckline. Tuck any remaining fabric into the belt.

    • 6

Secure any loose fabric with safety pins.
