How to Use a Kaspersky License Key

Kaspersky manufactures anti-virus software, including the security suite Kaspersky Internet Security. If you have previously purchased the program but have had to uninstall it or reformat your computer, you will need to re-enter your activation code in order to do so. Until you enter your license key, you may not have access to all of the program's features and you will periodically receive an alert reminding you to purchase an activation key.

  • Download and install the Kaspersky software for which you have a license or activation key from the Kaspersky website.

  • Launch the program on your computer and proceed with registration. When prompted to activate, click "Commercial License" and enter your 20-digit activation key into the box before clicking "Next."

  • Launch the program, if you have previously bypassed activation. Click "License: not installed," which is located on the bottom of the Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 screen, but may be located elsewhere if you have a different version of the program.

  • Click "Activate With a New License," select "Commercial License" and type your code into the box provided. Click "Next" and your copy of Kaspersky software will now be licensed.
