How to Remove the Popup Blocker on Firefox 3.6

Version 3.6 of the Mozilla Firefox Web browser includes a built-in pop-up blocking tool that automatically suppresses the opening of new windows by Web pages. Most people find this option helpful and the feature is turned on by default. Because it is hard-coded into the structure of Firefox, you cannot completely remove the pop-up blocker from the program. You can, however, disable the feature if you do not need it or prefer to use third-party pop-up prevention tools instead. Once you know where to find the proper menu, performing this task requires only a few clicks.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open a Firefox browser window.

    • 2

Click the "Tools" item in the top menu bar and select "Options."

    • 3

Select the "Content" tab located at the top of the resulting dialog box.

    • 4

Remove the check mark from the box next to the "Block pop-up windows" label.

    • 5

Click "OK" to confirm the change.
