Building your own passenger armrest for your motorcycle is a great way to add personality to your motorcycle. Motorcycle armrests also provide great comfort and security for any passenger who might need to sit at the back seat. Before you begin, make sure you have a backrest for your motorcycle. The process of building an armrest is quite simple but may need some improvisation and modifications to your backrest. The process will take a few hours.

Things You'll Need

  • 4-foot stainless steel pole with round ends
  • Metal bender
  • Cotton
  • 2 thin slip-on leather armrest covers
  • Black duct tape
  • Power drill
  • 2 bolts, 2 inch

Instructions

    • 1

      Bend the pole 14 inches from one end by 90 degrees with the metal bender. Bend the pole again 14 inches from the other end by 90 degrees.

      Stuff the leather armrest covers 1/3 of the way with cotton and slip them over the pole. Stuff the covers until there is only 1 inch left. Squeeze the ends right so that the cover is sticking to the bar. Tape the covers tightly to the pole.

      Drill 2 holes around the middle of your backrest support bars. Hold the armrest against the back of it center it. Locate where the holes go and drill through the pole. Bolt the pole to the back of your backrest.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play around with the design to add personality.

  • Do not drill directly into the backrest.
