How to Make a Saran-Wrap Bra

To protect the front end of their cars from dirt, rocks and bugs, many people place car bras on the front bumper and hood. These car bras are usually made of vinyl or plastic materials and they can be costly. However, if you wish to temporarily provide protection for the front end of your car for a road trip and want to prevent bugs or dirt from making a mess of your front bumper, you can use Saran Wrap or any other kind of plastic wrap to create an inexpensive car bra.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the front bumper area of your car from one front wheel around to the front wheel on the other side. Then measure the length across the top of the hood at its widest point. These are the two places you are going to cover in plastic wrap.

    • 2

Unroll the Saran Wrap to the correct length that you need to cover your front bumper and lay it out on the ground as you unravel it. Laying it out will prevent it from getting stuck to itself and getting tangled while you unroll it.

    • 3

Rip off the length of Saran wrap and place it on the front bumper of your car, making sure to smooth out any bumps or bubbles so that it wraps the bumper snugly and won't come off when you are driving.

    • 4

Repeat the above process to cover the hood.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not place any Saran Wrap over the front grill of the car or over any exhaust intake valves, as this can damage your car.

  • Do not place any Saran wrap over your front headlights. Make sure to cover only the bumper and hood of the car.
