Things You'll Need

  • Yucca root
  • Glycerin
  • Bowl
  • Soap
  • Pan
  • Coconut oil
  • Shea butter
  • Plastic bottle

Bring 1/4 cup of distilled water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in 2 tbsp. of yucca root. Cover and allow to steep for 15 to 20 minutes.

Add 2 tbsp. of vegetable glycerin to the yucca root-infused water; pour into a bowl and set aside.

Pour in 1 1/4 cups of distilled water into a pan. Shave an entire bar of unscented castile soap into the pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the castile soap is dissolved.

Pour the liquid soap into the set aside bowl. Fold three ounces of shea butter and one ounce of coconut oil into the bowl. Stir until well mixed. Let cool; pour into a clean or unused plastic bottle. The coconut glycerin soap has a shelf life of one year.
