Stores often send their staff to other stores for training. Learning from someone who is familiar with corporate policy and processes will make your work life easier and enhance your performance, as well as productivity. Thank your trainer with a personalized note. If you have several trainers, prepare several personalized notes. Use a high quality pen, with a dark color ink, and impressive stationary or a thank-you card.

Things You'll Need

  • Scrap paper
  • High quality paper
  • Pen

Lay scrap paper, pen and note card or paper on hard, flat surface. Write letter on scrap paper first. If you make mistake, scratch out error or start anew. Keep best paper for final copy.

Write formal salutation such as, 'Dear Mrs. Smith', on your scrap paper. Keep it formal: even if you know first name of trainer from other store, use formal address. Craft opening sentence noting you appreciate their time and effort in training you at their store.

Personalize next sentence: tell trainer what you learned during your experience. Remark on how your skill and knowledge has improved since returning to your home store.

Thank your trainer again and wish them well. Close letter and sign your name. Rewrite your draft carefully on your card or high quality paper.
