Yet like any frequently worn sneaker, they're also bound to get a little grungy over time. Read on for some steps to clean your Vans and restore them to their former glory.

  • Suede brush

  • Suede cleaner

  • Woolite or other mild detergent

  • Washing machine

  • Blow dryer

  • Sponge

Cleaning Suede Vans

Step 1

Use a dry towel to rub off any surface dirt from the exterior of the suede shoes and prepare them for washing.

Put some suede cleanser on a sponge and rub it gently onto the shoe until dirt and stains are gone or greatly reduced. You can purchase this type of cleanser at most shoe stores or online (see Resources).

Cleaning Canvas Vans

Step 1

Deposit some Woolite or another mild laundry detergent into a washing machine and set the washer to a warm temperature.
