Dexatrim is a medication that can be used to treat two primary conditions. With its primary active ingredient phenylpropanolamine, Dexatrim is applied to issues affecting the head and lungs such as sinus infections, colds and allergies. Take Dexatrim early in the day. For optimum benefit, Dexatrim recommends taking the product either in the morning or early in the afternoon. You should take the product either a half hour before consuming a meal or during eating.

Recognize variations. There is no standard dosage instruction for all people. Different Dexatrim products require different dosages which are outlined on their respective labels. Any specific dosage amounts should be decided upon in consultation with your doctor. She will set the dosage based on your individual needs, medical condition and other formally diagnosed criteria.

Adhere to physician guidance. First, taking additional doses of Dexatrim will not augment the weight loss process. Taking more than the prescribed amount can actually injure your health.
