Cell phones by default have certain alert sounds. For example, when you receive a new text message or miss a call, your cell phone will beep to notify you of the alert. You might not want your cell phone to emit beeps, which are embarrassing if you're in a location where there shouldn't be any noise or cell phones. Stop the beep on cell phones by simply adjusting the sounds settings on your phone.
Click "Menu" on your cell phone. Click "Settings & Tools."
Click "Sounds Settings." Click "Alert Sounds."
Click on an alert sound. Click "Tone." Select "No Ring."
Tips & Warnings
- To stop the beep sounds of your keypad, follow the same instructions, but click on "Keypad" rather than "Alert Sounds" in the "Sounds" settings menu.
- Stopping the beeps on your cell phone could cause you to miss important notifications that you need to respond to immediately.
