How to Clean a Disc With Toothpaste
How frustrating it is to be playing a video game or listening to a favorite CD when it suddenly starts skipping or freezing. Compact discs and DVDs are easily scratched, but the scratches can be removed with toothpaste and a soft cloth.

Wipe the disc using a lint-free cloth to remove any dust particles.

Apply a small amount of toothpaste to a soft cloth and, starting at the center of the disc and working your way to the edge, rub the toothpaste onto the disc in gentle circles. Apply more toothpaste as needed until the disc is covered with a thin film.

Wipe the toothpaste off the disc using a cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water.

Pat the disc dry using a lint-free cloth. Be sure no water or toothpaste remains on the disc.

Repeat the process as needed if scratches remain on the disc.

Tips & Warnings
Gel toothpaste should not be used to clean discs.
