How to Find the Gear Score in WoW
Gear score in Blizzard's "World of Warcraft" is a number based on your equipped items. The better weapons and armor you find, the higher your gear score will be. Gear score used to be primarily calculated with either add-ons or websites that took your character's gear and gave it a value. However, Blizzard implemented an item level to all gear, which makes calculating your gear score easier.

Log into "World of Warcraft" with the character whose gear score you wish to check.

Click the "Character info" button on the micro menu bar. The button is indicated by a small picture of your character's head.

Mouse over an equipped item. Locate the item level number. Add up the item level numbers for all of your equipped items. The sum represents your gear score.
