How to Identify an Old Ariens Snow Blower

Check the snow blower's serial number. The serial number is written on a small aluminum plate attached to the snow blower's frame above or under the engine. You can find the engine at the back of the machine. Take note of the machine's serial number.

Find the machine's model number. The model number is six digits and begins with the number nine. The model number is either on the handle bar or a small aluminum plate attached to the frame near the engine.

Look for "Ariens" painted on a metal plate between the two handle bars. The plate should contain the Ariens name and the phrase "Sno-Thro".

Visit the Ariens website and enter the serial number and model number into the search box. Select which manual you wish to receive and in which language. Click on "Electronic Manual Search" to download the manual. If the search brings up an Ariens owner's manual, you have an Ariens snow blower. If the search fails, it may mean your snow blower is not an Ariens Sno-Thro.
