How to Get Rid of the Bing Tool Bar on Firefox

Downloading and installing software from the Internet can have unintended consequences even when the download is from a trusted source. Browser toolbars are frequently an unexpected surprise after a program installation or update. Whether you are removing a stealth installation or you're just tired of looking at the Bing toolbar, Firefox makes the process simple.

Instructions

1. Click "Tools" on the Firefox main menu at the top of the browser window.

2. Click "Add-ons" in the "Tools" menu.

3. Click "Extensions" to display a list of extensions currently installed for the Firefox browser.

4. Locate the entry for "Bing Bar" in the "Extensions" window.

5. Click the "Disable" button in the "Bing Bar" listing. Click the "Restart" button when prompted. Firefox will close and restart without the Bing toolbar.

Tips & Warnings

• A search helper extension is also installed with the Bing toolbar. This extension makes Bing your default search engine. Disable "Search Helper Extension" while disabling the Bing toolbar to remove this setting.
