How to Address a Group in Emails

One of the convenient operations email users are able to perform is sending group emails. This can be very useful, especially in situations when you need to notify more than one person about something. No matter what email program you use, you can address a group with one email. This includes Web-based email, such as Yahoo and Gmail, and email programs like Outlook Express and Thunderbird.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your email program or go to your email host Web site, click "New" or "Compose," and then type the desired message into the body and subject sections of the new email message.

    • 2

Type, copy and paste, or go to your email address book and select the first email address you'd like to add to the "To" section of your email message.

    • 3

Insert a comma after the email address and repeat step two until all the desired email addresses have been added to the "To" section. Remember, every email address must be separated by a comma.

    • 4

Click "Send" to send out your group email. Every email address you added to the "To" section will now receive a copy of the email message.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are going to be frequently sending out group emails to the same email addresses, it would be a good idea to copy and paste the contents of the "To" section into an email draft or text file and save it for future use.
