How to Put an Animated Icon on AIM

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) offers the use of "buddy icons" that act as your avatar when you use the instant messaging client. Included with the legions of icons available are animated buddy icons that move and play in your IM window while you chat with your friends. Most of them are free and install from within the AIM client.

Instructions

1. Click the "Menu" or "Options" button on your AIM Buddy List menu.

2. Click "Settings" in the menu that appears.

3. Click "Expressions" in the window that appears, then click "My Expressions."

4. Click the "Browse" button on the "My Expressions" page, then click "Icons."

5. Select a category from the list that appears, then click on an animated Buddy Icon that interests you. Click "Apply" to use it in AIM.
