HP Photosmart C4280 Installation
The HP Photosmart C4280 is a multifunction photo printer. If you print photos or documents from a memory card, this printer comes with built-in memory card slots, eliminating the need for a computer. The C4280 has a compact size owing to its foldaway design. The top of the printer has two LCD displays -- a monochrome screen for showing printing status, such as quality and number of prints, and a color screen for displaying the preview of images.

Plug in the adapter cord to the rear of the printer. Insert the adapter to the power plug. Press the "Power" button on top of the printer to turn it on.

Select your language in the LCD screen that displays the printer menu. Press "OK" to apply the setting. Select your country/region from the menu. Press "OK" to apply the setting. Draw out the paper tray on the front of the printer and insert a stack of paper. Press "OK" to continue.

Slide the cover in front of the printer cartridge box downwards to expose the cartridge slots of the printer. The print carriage will change its position to the right. Take out the ink cartridges from your printer box and remove the plastic tape from the bottom of the cartridges. Insert the cartridge into the cartridge box. Make sure the logo remains on top as you insert the cartridges. Install the tri-color cartridge in the left-hand slot and black cartridge in the right-hand slot. Slide the plastic cover back to its original position.

Insert the software CD into the CD/DVD drive of your computer. "Autoplay" will run the setup. Follow prompts in the setup program to insert one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the back of your printer and the other end to one of the available USB ports on your computer.
