Instructions

    • 1

Wait until your kitchen oven is completely cool before you start cleaning it.

    • 2

Fill your sink with water, adding dish-washing soap. This is the same process you would use to wash a sink full of dishes.

    • 3

Remove the burner racks from the oven and place them in the soapy water.

    • 4

Dip a cloth into the soapy water and wring it out. Use the cloth to wipe down the outside surface of the oven, including the control knobs.

    • 5

Scrub off the burner racks with the cloth. Rinse them with plain water and set them out to dry. Once dry, you can return them to the oven.

    • 6

Mix up a cleaning solution in a bowl of one tablespoon each of lemon juice, bleach and dish-washing soap in one quart of water.

    • 7

Soak a sponge in the cleaning solution and saturate the entire inside surface of your oven.

    • 8

Allow the cleaning solution to sit in the oven for at least 45 minutes.

    • 9

Scrub the inside of the oven with a scrubbing pad. Rinse using a separate sponge soaked in water.
