How to Find Out Who Is a Sex Offender in Your Neighborhood
In the United States, a person convicted of a sexual offense may be required to register as a sex offender. The United Stated Department of Justice tracks sex offenders in the workplace and community, and all of that information is open to the public. Finding out who is a sex offender in your neighborhood is a relatively easy thing to do.

Log online and go to the United States Department of Justice's National Sex Offender Public website.

Click on "search for sex offenders" on the right side of the screen.

Read and then click on "I Agree" at the bottom of the the User Agreement form.

Type in the randomized security word as you see it on the screen. Type in the word in the box labeled "Type Here," then click "Enter."

Left-click on "Search by zip code," or "Search by city/town." Enter in your relevant neighborhood information, and click "Enter." A listing should come up of all the registered sex offenders in your area. You can further specify the list by clicking on "advanced options" and choosing a smaller mile radius from your current zip code or town.
