How to Wash a Safety First High Chair

How to Wash a Safety First High Chair thumbnail
A clean high chair is nicer to look at and can make feeding more enjoyable.

Safety First is a manufacturer that produces a range of baby products, including high chairs. Like other brands, Safety First high chairs feature soft seat cushions, seat straps, a plastic eating tray and the chair frame itself. Each of these parts can and will likely get quite dirty even during the most mild meal with your little one, so washing your high chair will become a necessity. Luckily, Safety First chairs are quite easy to wipe down and clean up, so your baby can have his cake and eat it too, without leaving the telltale signs all over his seat.

Instructions

    • 1

Lift the tray off of the high chair and dispose of any food that is on it. Wipe the tray with a warm, damp sponge that has soap on it. This will get rid of any light dirt on the tray.

    • 2

Fill a spray bottle with lemon juice and apply a light mist over the tray on any areas that are stained or marked. Let the juice soak into the stain to remove as much of the discoloration as possible. Put the tray or the removable tray insert into the dishwasher to clean off the juice and give it a thorough washing.

    • 3

Shake off any food that is inside the high chair or trapped within the seating pad. Wipe down the seating pad to remove surface dirt and any bits of food that are stuck to the fabric.

    • 4

Remove the seat pad from the high chair and put it into the washing machine on a cold wash. Leave the pad to air dry when it comes out of the wash before replacing it on the chair.

    • 5

Wash down the frame of the high chair using the soapy sponge. If there are any stains like there were on the tray, use the lemon juice in the same way. Wash the lemon juice off with the sponge.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wipe down fresh spills right after each feeding to keep major cleanings to a minimum.

  • Do not leave babies in a high chair unattended because they can fall out or become tangled in the straps and get hurt.
