How to Backup Thunderbird in Windows 7

Mozilla Thunderbird provides an alternative to other email clients such as Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail. It is important to back up the contents of the Thunderbird mailbox when they are valued. Mozilla Thunderbird can be backed up using the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

      Close Thunderbird if it is running.

      Press the Windows logo key and "R" simultaneously on the keyboard.

      Type in "C:\Users\your-account-name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird" without quotes and replacing "your-account-name" with the actual name of your Windows user account. Click the "Start" button and view the name in the top right column to see what your user account name is.

      Right-click "Profiles" and click "Copy."

      Navigate to the backup location, such as an external drive, in the same Windows Explorer window that is currently open.
