How to Send Traffic to a Squeeze Page With Adwords

A squeeze page is a webpage that is designed as a call to action for consumers. With a squeeze page, you are typically attempting to get the reader to buy something or sign up for a mailing list on your site. Some squeeze pages offer little other than a sign up box while others offer valuable information. If you have the former rather than the latter, using AdWords to send traffic your way can get your AdWords account suspended and you banned from the advertising program. If your page provides value, you can use AdWords with no worries.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign up with Google AdWords on their website (see Resources), if you haven't done so already. Enter in your name, address and billing information to create the account.

    • 2

Review your squeeze page to confirm that it complies with the AdWords landing page and site policy guidelines, which are listed in full on the AdWords help site. Your account can be suspended if you are sending users to a page or site that Google deems to offer no value. If you have a squeeze page with little content and text, which exists solely to redirect the user to another site then Google will likely not approve your ad. To make a squeeze page more compliant, include more text and have links on the page to other articles on your site that relate to your product. For instance, if your squeeze page is for a panic attack treatment product, you can have links to articles on panic attack symptoms and triggers on the squeeze page. To make sure you do not lose any conversions, include links to your product on those article pages as well.

Go to the "Ads" tab of your Google AdWords account and click "New Ad" to get started creating your ad. Write a headline and two lines of text for your ad. It should include the keywords you are targeting, such as panic attack treatment. The keywords you use should also be on your squeeze page. AdWords reviews your site and assigns a quality score to your ad; relevant keywords is one of the things it takes into account. You get to select the keywords that you want to trigger your ad to be displayed in the search results once you have created the ad. Pick as many relevant keywords as you want.

Save your ad once it is created and wait to see if Google has any problems with it. Within a couple of hours your ad will either start showing in search results or you will get notification that something is wrong with it. Sometimes your account will update with 15 minutes, so you can stay logged into the account and refresh it for updates. If there is a problem with ad, Google will let you know what it is so that you can fix it.
