How to Remove Dryer Sheet Odor

Fresh air can help to eliminate dry sheet scents.

Dryer sheets are supposed to eliminate static in the clothes you are drying. Most dryer sheets also are scented. Scented dryer sheets are supposed to make fabrics smell fresh and pleasant, but sometimes the scent can be too strong. Such scents can irritate your nose, eyes and skin. Eliminate odor from dryer sheets by implementing some simple strategies.

Things You'll Need

• Clothesline
• Neutralizing spray
• White vinegar
• Baking soda

Instructions

1. Hang your clothing items in a well-ventilated area outdoors. The fresh air can help remove the dryer sheet smell.

2. Spray your clothing with a scent-neutralizing spray.

3. Soak the clothing in vinegar if the previous methods didn't work. Allow the clothing to soak for 30 minutes.

4. Launder as usual with the addition of 1/2 cup of baking soda in the wash. Dry the clothing without a dryer sheet or on a clothesline outdoors.
