WoW is played on computers with other people from around the world.

World of Warcraft, or WoW, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place in the mythical world of Azeroth. In the computer game, you choose a character and perform quests and fight in dungeons until the character has reached the highest level and has acquired the most superior of armor, weapons and enchantments. Agility, intellect, spirit, stamina and strength are the main "base stats" needed for characters. One type of enhancement that boosts certain stats are gems. Gems are created by players who have the jewelcrafting skill and can be added to an item with a socket.

Instructions

    • 1

Find out which gems can be placed in that particular socket. There are three colored sockets -- blue, red and yellow -- allowing for only the same colored gem to be placed in the socket. Meta sockets can only hold Meta gems. Prismatic or uncolored sockets will hold any color gem.

    • 2

Decide which stat or character function you want to increase. Examples of gems attributes are "+20 Agility," "2% Increased Armor Value from Items," "+3 Melee Damage," "15% Chance to Increase Spell Cast Speed" and "+12 Critical Strike Rating/5% Stun Resistance." There are hundreds of gems to choose from, made by jewelcrafting recipes or found on the in-game auction house. Certain gems are considered common, uncommon, rare or epic, which alters the availability and price.

    • 3

Purchase the gem from a player or the auction house. Pay attention to socket/gem color, appropriate level and attributes of the gem. WoW Gem Finder has a list of all gems and attributes, which makes it easier to find the appropriate gem for your character.

    • 4

Open your character panel by pressing "C" on your keyboard. Find the piece of armor with the socket attached. Press the shift key and right click on the item. This will open the "Item Socketing" window.

    • 5

Drag the gem to the socket by clicking on the gem while holding down the left mouse button. Once the gem is hovering over the socket, let go of the mouse button and the gem should be socketed.

    • 6

Change the gem, if needed. Once the gem is socketed it cannot be removed without destroying the gem. However, another gem can replace the existing gem. Simply drag the new gem over the necessary socket and the new gem will replace the gem that is currently socketed.
