How to Add Tags to Your Tumblr Page
A few years after Tumblr launched, the microblogging platform introduced the ability to tag posts. Tags are a form of categorization that allow you to group similar posts together with keywords. You can also search for posts on other Tumblr sites that contain a certain tag. It's easy to add tags to new Tumblr posts as well as to posts you've already published.

1
Click on the type of post you want to make -- Text, Photo or Chat -- on the Tumblr dashboard.

Create your post, then enter your tags in the "Tags" box on the right side of the page. Separate tags with a comma. You can use any tags you wish; to get ideas, check out the "Popular Tags" on Tumblr's "Explore" page.

Click "Create Post." The tags should appear below your post on both your Tumblr page and your dashboard; click the tags to see a list of all users' posts with that tag.
