Removing talkative users can help unclog your Twitter feed.

Many applications use Twitter's API to identify users you're following who haven't tweeted in a long time, easily allowing you to dump the dead weight. But at the other end of the spectrum, there are those users who tweet too often; their constant posts clog up your feed, causing you to miss the less-frequent tweets from quieter users. An application called ManageFlitter shows you who your most talkative Twitter friends are and makes it easy to unfollow them if desired.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your Twitter account to the ManageFlitter application. You will grant ManageFlitter permission to access information about your followers through Twitter's OAuth authorization process.

    • 2

Click the "Talkative" tab to show you the users you follow who tend to tweet the most often.

    • 3

Check the boxes next to the users you want to unfollow, then click "Unfollow (number) Selected." If you also want these followers to stop following you, click their usernames to go to their Twitter pages, then click "Block" under the Gears menu.
