You can uninstall unwanted font suitcases with Font Book.

When creating documents on your computer, using different fonts can change the look and feel of your work. In the Macintosh operating system, fonts are packaged together in a file called a font suitcase. These suitcases can be downloaded from many different sources and installed for use in all of the programs that use fonts on your computer. In order to uninstall a font suitcase, you must first open the Font Book application and select the fonts you want to remove.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Finder" option on your desktop. Click on the "Go" menu option followed by the "Applications" option. In this folder, look for the "Font Book" application and click to open it. From this application, you will be able to view the fonts you have installed on your system.

    • 2

Scroll down in the application to move through the list of available fonts on your computer. On the left hand side of the screen, you will see a list of the collections of fonts you have, including any suitcases you have installed. Click on the name of the suitcase that you wish to uninstall.

    • 3

Look at the list of fonts associated with the suitcase you have chosen. This list will appear in the center portion of the screen. If this suitcase is the one that you wish to remove from your computer, click on any one of the fonts on the list to highlight it.

    • 4

Click on the "File" button at the top of the screen. A list of options will appear, including a "Remove" option. This option will include the name of the font that you have highlighted followed by "Family." Click on this option and click "Yes" on the screen that appears asking if you are sure you want to remove this font.

Removing a font that was part of a suitcase will uninstall all of the other fonts in that suitcase, meaning you will only have to remove one font to uninstall the entire suitcase. If you wish to reinstall the suitcase, click on the "Trash" application and drag the font files to the "Fonts" folder.
