How to Deep Fry With Olive Oil
Olive oil is generally not the go-to oil when it comes time to deep fry foods. Olive oil has a low smoke point, meaning it will burn at a lower temperature than most other oils, leaving it useless for the higher temperatures required to deep fry fries, shrimp and more. However, with careful monitoring of the temperature, you can deep fry with olive oil and achieve delicious results. Does this Spark an idea?

Pour extra virgin olive oil into your deep fryer. Use the amount recommended on the fryer's instructions to correspond with the amount of food you'll be preparing.

Preheat the oil to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. The light will go out on your deep fryer once the oil is at the proper temperature.

Place the food you wish to fry in the basket and lower it into the oil. Allow the food to cook until it is a light brown and starts to float near the surface of the oil.

Remove the food from the oil and allow it to drain on paper towels. Increase the heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the oil has reached the chosen temperature, drop the food back in the basket and submerge it into the oil for a few more minutes.

Remove the food and drain on paper towels. It should be golden brown, crispy on the outside and soft and cooked through on the inside.
